39 weeks...and still going

How far along? 39 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: .4lbs gained.

Maternity clothes? So ready to be done with them, but yes everyday.

Sleep: Uggg, it is getting harder and harder to get a good nights sleep. I have been able to get a few short naps in during the days while I am home.

Best moment this week:
Well since I already talked about the 3D ultrasound, there really wasn't too much that happened this week. We went back to Buy Buy Baby and BabiesRus and purchased a few more last things from our registries. so that was fun. Todd got a CD for Mr. Bun, it is a compilation of Guns & Roses songs made into lullabys.
Oh and I got my prenatal message this week, it was wonderful, very relaxing. It however did not do anything in the moving along labor department...but it felt super good!
Worst moment this week: So it isn't really a moment per say, but a realization of the week. I really need to clean the house, and have no motivation to do so what so ever...really really need to get the guest room ready and it is just not happening.
Food cravings: Haven't had them yet but I saw a commercial for Burger King and they now have funnel cake sticks...damnit if there isn't a Burger King close by. I suppose it is probably better this way, haha.
Movement:
Definitely
Gender: Team Blue
Labor Signs: Still no change, we are trying to schedule an induction date for sometime next week. They only schedule 5 each day at Reston Hospital and they are hard to get so my Dr. wants to start trying to get a date and we don't want to go past Jan 10th if we don't have to.
Belly button in or out? In. Todd would debate that it is part way out, but I disagree.
What I miss: Having energy. I really hope that comes back soon after Mr. Bun is born.
What I am looking forward to: Ummm lets see...let me think...oh I know having this baby!
Milestones:
Mr. Bun's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

38 weeks

How far along? 38 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Made up for last week, up 2lbs.

Maternity clothes? Most definitely.

Sleep: Ok...it is starting to get a little bit rougher to get some good sleep, I hear this is natures way of preparing me for a couple of weeks from now.

Best moment this week: Well technically since this happened this morning, Wednesday 12/23, this counts as next week but getting our 38 week ultrasound and getting to take a peek at Mr. Bun in 4D again! Bonus this time he actually didn't have a hand or an arm in his face, the bad news is he is pretty smushed in there
so the pic is still not super clear.Getting an adorable stuffed red fox from my friend Ivy. It is sooo cute and soft, and we had been looking for one for awhile so that we can take weekly pictures of Mr. Bun with him to show how he is growing.
Spending the weekend snowed in by
18 inches of snow! Cyndi and I spent the better part of Saturday making 16lbs of peppermint bark...YUM! Todd wouldn't let me eat anything spicy or do much of anything so that I wouldn't go into labor because it would have been nearly impossible to make it to hospital due Virginia's lack of understanding of how to properly treat & plow roads. LOL
Worst moment this week: Having my last day of work on Friday, it was sad to say goodbye and put up my out of office messages. I did really well though, I didn't cry once, and that is good for me in its self, not to mention pregnant emotional Stacie!
Food cravings: Ice cream, and I had the most awesome flavor, grasshopper, from Milwaukee Custard.
Movement: Definitely.
Gender: Team Blue
Labor Signs: Unfortunately no change here.
Belly button in or out? INNIE!
What I miss: Ok, so I now know people weren't lieing when they say that the last few weeks are kinda miserable. I am pretty ready to be done with this and being able to wear normal cloths again, eventually, and sleeping on my tummy, and not feeling so achey when I get up and start moving, and lastly being able to feel my thumb, pointer, and middle fingers again on my right hand (this makes typing and pretty much anything I need to do with my right hand impossible)!
What I am looking forward to: Massage for sure...I really need to book this, like now!
Milestones:
Mr. Bun has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds (well really according to the ultrasound today 7.4lbs) and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which I'll soon be able to test when I hold him hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. Wondering what color his eyes will be? If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old.

37 weeks

How far along? 37 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Nada this week.

Maternity clothes? Yep.

Sleep: Some nights it is good, some nights it is not so good. Just trying to get as much now as I can.

Best moment this week: Can't pick just one! Rea
lly it was this whole weekend, here are the highlights:
My surprise baby shower at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons! Cyndi and Ashley suggested that we go out to a girls lunch and some how convin
ced me that all Ashley brought was a skirt and that I should dress and we would all look cute and go somewhere nice. I am such a sucker...but they got me for sure. And then Cortney was waiting there for us at the table and I had no idea! They are so sneeky! We had tea and opened presents and had a really really great time! I have such great friends, I am a very lucky girl! Love you ladies (and ladies there is spirit, Rose, Emily, Jen if you are reading this, love you too!).One of my FAVORITE things that we do every year is go into the city for the National Menorah Lighting. The weather was kinda yucky this year and the mall was super wet and the ground was all squishy and sinky but at least it wasn't as freezing as last year. We got to hear the White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, speak and light the menorah. And we got our yearly picture with Dreidle Man & ate latkes. It is always such a great time, it is our little tradition and I LOVE it! Then we all went to Zaytinya for dinner and had the most wonderful meal (Thanks Michael & Ashley!).And then today we had a baby shower at Todd's work. We are so blessed to have such great friends and co-workers! We had a great time and enjoyed some yummy food and cupcakes and presents! We got a great stuffed monkey for Mr. Bun, he sings "If you are happy and you know it" and he claps his hands! SO CUTE!
Worst moment this week: Finding out that this Friday is for sure my last day of work. I am not quite ready to let go yet, I think I am going to miss work, and seeing everyone. But my Dr. says I need to take it easy and rest for the last few weeks before Mr. Bun comes, unless he comes early!

Food cravings: Latkes and they were sooo good Saturday night when Cyndi made them for our Hanukkah Feast.
Movement: Yes, but less than before. However I imagine that it is getting a little cramped in there for our little 6+ lb Mr. Bun.
Gender: Baby Boy
Labor Signs: Um probably TMI but Dr. C said she can feel the head. CRAZY!
Belly button in or out? Still in, oh yeah!
What I miss: Nothing new.
What I am looking forward to: I am getting my prenatal massage next week, since I won't be working I will really be able to relax and enjoy.
Milestones: Mr. Bun is full term! This means that if he arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though my due date is still three weeks away. Mr. Bun weighs 6 1/3 pounds
(at least) and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard).
Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if the baby's hair isn't the same color as the parents. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz. (Todd thinks the bun will have peach fuzz.)

36 weeks

How far along? 36 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up 2lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes...and getting tired of them. But LOVE my winter coat, it is a cute purple peacoat and I have a great scarf and hat to go with!
Sleep: Same ol’, same ol’.
Best moment this week: Having my house cleaned for me by Molly Maids! Our house is so clean and our shower is spotless, it is fabulous! Now we just need to keep it that way, haha!
Also we attended a very interesting and entertaining Prepared Childbirth class over the weekend, it was taught by a nurse from our hospital and she gave us lots of good tips. Later after class in the evening we had our Baby Kegger, but the snow kinda dampened our plans and kept a lot of people away. But I am sure we will see everyone after the baby is born too!
Worst moment this week: Unfortunately I have a few from this week. Getting rear-ended in the rain on Wednesday night in my new Murano…stupid guy not paying attention. I am fine, my car is mostly fine. I had an ultrasound Thursday, Mr. Bun looks good and is now weighing in at 6lbs 4oz. He’s a chunkster! The car is being looked at this Thursday and the stupid guys insurance is taking care of everything.
Finding out at my Dr. Appointment today that she is concerned about my footsies swelling and not going down as fast as they used to, so I might have to leave work earlier than planned. I am super bummed about this…trying to hold it together today…

Food cravings: Lots of things pop into my head these days, nothing that I have been like I need to have this right now! Yesterday someone was talking about red velvet cake and then I really wanted that, but then it passed. Todd is still making fun of me for enjoying my Lucky Charms though…
Movement: As always...
Gender: Team Blue
Labor Signs: Kinda crampy, but I am sure they are just Braxton Hicks. The ultrasound tech did say that he is still head down, but Dr. C said that he is not very low yet.
Belly button in or out? Ha it is still in! I win for now, belly button, I win for now!
What I miss: Being able to sit up and get out of bed instead of rolling off the side.
What I am looking forward to: Michael and Ashley are in visiting this weekend!!! We have lots planned and on Sunday we will all be attending the annual National Menorah Lighting on the Ellipse! This is our DC tradition, Matt & Cyndi and Todd & I have gone every year the past 3 years and then have a great dinner out in the city!
Milestones: Mr. Bun’s still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. He swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of his first bowel movement. At the end of this week, Mr. Bun will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) and he's in a head-down position.

35 weeks

How far along? 35 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 18lbs total (not just for the week)
Maternity clothes? Yep.
Sleep: When I am not waking up to use the bathroom it is great.
Best moment this week: Thanksgiving & getting to see everyone and play with all the neices & nephews! We also marked another thing off of our list of "To Dos" we got our camcorder on a great Black Friday deal!
Worst moment this week: Ugggg the 8 hour drive back from Cleveland.
Food cravings: Lucky Charms. I could not stop thinking about having a bowl of Lucky Charms on Monday...after work I had to go to the grocery store and buy a box!
Movement: Still movin' and groovin'! At Todd's reunion there was plenty of music, but I couldn't really feel the Bun moving until "I've got a Feeling" started playing, which (coincidentally) is the only song of the night that is on his playlist.
Gender: Team Blue
Labor Signs: I think I had my first bout of Braxton-Hicks contractions but not sure, it could just be the Bun stepping my organs.
Belly button in or out? In, I think there is 1/8th of an inch to spare.
What I miss: Not having swollen little hands and feet. Todd says that my fingers look like snausages :'-( (Todd: Just kidding).
What I am looking forward to: Taking our Baby Bootcamp class at the YMCA Saturday & Sunday! We are also having our Baby Kegger get together this weekend...one last time to have people over to hangout & drink (well not me) before little Mr. Bun takes most of our attention for the next few months...I mean years. ::gulp::
Milestones: Babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
