Team i6 Takes on Things I keep meaning to tell you...

Here are a few quick stories that we thought were cute but kept forgetting to put in our weekly updates.  Enjoy.

When we were at Disney we went to breakfast at a restaurant called Chef Mickey's, which I would highly recommend if you ever head to Disney.  We were there for a character breakfast with Mickey and friends.  It was a buffet so there was there was plenty to choose from to eat, you will never go hungry there that's for sure.  They also had a cereal bar with all types of cereal, I got some fruit loops and heading back to the table.  Lincoln declared them to be "beautiful cheerios" and it was adorable.  That is all.

At dinner Lincoln was being kind of picky and didn't want to eat a good dinner and spent most of his time playing and not actually eating.  I told him I wanted him to put the bite of steak he was playing with in his tummy.  So he looked at me and smirked and then lifted up his shirt and put the steak on his tummy.  Sometimes it is SO hard not to laugh at him, and this was one of those moments.  I don't know why but somehow I can picture this as something Todd would have done as a child.  I turned to Todd and told him this was one of those moments when I knew that they were related.

Lincoln is obsessed with the song Some Nights by FUN.  Seriously he is crazy about it.  It started a few weeks ago when it came on the radio and he got all excited and called it "the party song".  Amused we asked him who told him it was "the party song" and he said Grandma.  Now I am 99% sure that neither of his Grandma's know of this song and would probably not refer to it as "the party song" even if they had.  Anyway that is his story and he's sticking to it and he tells us so ever.single.time. this song comes on the radio, or because Mommy is a sucker I bought it on iTunes so we play it on my phone if he is being a good boy before bedtime so he can dance and sing his little heart out.  He actually knows quite a few of the words, I can't decide if this is good or not, but for now it is cute so we go with it.  I never really saw the appeal of the youtube videos showing babies singing and dancing to Beyonce, that was until my own son started to break it down to songs, now I get it.  Behold:

 
Lincoln and Daddy were having a convo the other night about animals and where they live.  Linc was talking about bears and how they live in the forest, and then about how monkeys live in the jungle...  Daddy then said that lions live in the plains.  Lincoln looked at him all confused and very seriously said, "no Daddy, Pilots live in planes, not lions." 

Lincoln put on his cowboy hat and was riding 'Jitters' his rocking horse. Daddy told him he looked like a cowboy and Lincoln looked offended and said "I'm not a cow boy, I'm a horsey man!"

Team i6 Takes on Week 155

We had a really laid back week here, so much so I seriously have no pictures from the week.  I know!  I am a horrible mother and blogger.  Really I will try to be better, I don't know what my deal is but I am just not going for the camera like I used to. 

Lincoln went to school all but the two days that his daycare was closed and both Todd and I worked pretty much our normal schedules.  I am trying to save up all the vacation I can, I don't know what Todd's excuse was, haha.  But anyway we did relax a little the few days we had off, but we also tried to get alot around the house done as well.

We did a bit of Skyping with family and Linc did pretty good keeping with conversation and not being too too crazy.  He still would lose interest and get distracted though so we didn't get to chat as much as we wanted to.  He had a good time opening Christmas presents with Grammy Tuesday and Grandpa Sparks & Phylis Wednesday.  He loved his train, innotab pirate game, and his fire truck so much.  He is such a lucky little boy! 

Somewhere in there we made a trip to the JCC to enjoy some inflatable bouncy house time and other fun games and treats.  And we also went for a playdate and dinner with Tyler and Zachary over and Uncle Matt & Aunt Cyndi's.  The kiddos had a grand time running all around and playing with trucks and whatnot. 

Lincoln has been doing really well with potty training this past week.  He has been in big boy underwear more and more with very few accidents, yay!  We even have been taking him out of the house in real underwear with lots of success.  Next step is sending him to school in underwear.  Will update next week with progress.  Fingers crossed!

Mama i6 Takes on Week 36 (!)

Total weight gain/loss: I am right on track here.  Even though I feel as big as a house I have only gained about 15lbs total, still a bit to go though.
Maternity clothes? Yep. 
Sleep: Seriously it is so hard to get comfortable at night.  I am all over the place, poor Todd, I am on my left, then right, then on my back for a little (which I know I am not supposed to do but it is comfy) and then back to my left, so on and so on.  It is a wonder either of us gets any sleep at all. 
Best moment this week:  We had a good ultrasound this week, our last until she is here!  We decided to take Lincoln with us since he is talking more and more about baby girl.  He was super excited when I picked him up from school to go to the appointment....and then we made it to the Dr. office (still good) and then they took us back to the room (still good) and then I got him a chair.  And that is when he found the swivel Dr. chair and well he pretty much could care less about anything else that was happening in that room.  So little sister has been out done by a swivel chair, sorry little girl better luck in 4 weeks, but then again for a while he thought you were going to be a giraffe so maybe you shouldn't count on impressing him. ;-)

Movement: Yes still lots of action going on in there.  I think she had the hiccups for 4omin strait the other night.
Food cravings: I haven't had anything really significant hit me this week, that I remember anyway.  I have been drinking a lot of milk right now, like I think Lincoln and I killed over a gallon in a little over a week and I am sure more of that was Mommy than Linc.
Gender: Girlie.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly button in or out? Still an innie.
What I miss: Medium rare steak, sushi, lox, WINE. 
What I am looking forward to: Focusing on Big Brother Lincoln and his upcoming Bday party.  Getting in some last family of 3 moments before we rock his world.

Team i6 Takes on The Big Boy Fire Truck Room

Yet another transition has occurred here in the i6 household (and more to come).  This one has been mostly successful at least so far.  Saturday during nap time we did our final preparations for Lincoln's new room and Saturday night we had the unavailing.  Linc was super excited to see his new bed & sheets & just loved being in there in general.  He kept running back into his old room though to try to find some of his stuffed animals and books.  We kept having to tell him they were already in his new room.  Bedtime has been just a little bit later than normal due to the excitement of it all & just getting used to his bed that is 3X the size of his old bed. 

It is still a bit of a work in progress as we have some cool fireman/truck/station related wall decals coming to put up, some shelves to hang, and at least one picture to go up yet.  But so far it is really shaping up and most importantly Linc loves it.  Here is sort of a sneak peek, the best I could do at this point anyway.  Better pics to come once we have added the finishing touches and hopefully have the real bed in place.

Team i6 Takes on Week 154

Ok, lets get back on track shall we?  Not that this week has been all that exciting but we'll at least get you all caught up so you can't call me a slacker...

We spent the past weekend finishing up Lincoln's room by hanging his wood blinds and curtain rods.  Now we just need a bed.  I wish I had better news on that topic, but I don't.  We really don't know right now when we are getting the headboard in, awesome.  So we are moving to plan B and this weekend we are going to arrange the furniture how we want it and put the mattress on the floor and go ahead and introduce him to his new big boy room!  He is super excited and asks to go in there all the time so we decided we are just going to go with it.  We are going to throw on his cool new vehicle sheets, hang his curtains, add the fire truck rug, and hang his newly repainted letters for his name (that used to hang above his crib) in his new room this weekend and we'll just call it a work in progress.

We focused more on potty training this past weekend as well, progress has been made.  He wore real underwear most of the weekend and stayed dry while we were at home and he had on a pull-up when we were out and about and kept that dry as well.  He is really excited about putting on big boy underwear right now, especially the super hero ones and the shark ones he has.   We are hoping to keep the momentum going and work on it a lot more this weekend too.  I don't want to jinx it so that's all we'll talk about.  Wish us luck.

Friday was a special day at Lincoln's school, it was pajama day!  Lincoln got to wear his fire truck pjs and take his mini dino pillow pet with him to school.  He and mini dino enjoyed mini pancakes in the back seat on the way into school.

He was so excited and could not wait to get to school to show all his friends his cool pjs.  And all his friends were equally excited to show him their pjs, there were race car pjs, animal print pjs, polar bear pjs, and princess pjs just to name a few.   He had a great day and could not stop talking about how much fun it was.

Team i6 Takes on Hanukkah 2012

Hanukkah started December 8th this year.  We spent the first night celebrating with The Aldersons.  Cyndi fried the latkes and we had quite the Hanukkah feast.  We lit candles and the boys all played and opened presents. 

The next day we did our yearly trek into DC for the National Menorah lighting.  This year it fell on a Sunday night, so getting in to the city was not quite as hectic as if it were a weeknight after work, but parking was more difficult on a weekend so meh.  We were a bit late to the ceremony but it worked out because there is kind of a lot of fluff in the beginning and really a toddler can only sit through so much programing so I think we decided we might just be a little late every year from now on. 

It was a good time as always.  Lincoln nearly lost his mind with Dreidel Man, he just thought he was the coolest and sang "dreidel dreidel dreidel" all the way home. We enjoyed warmish latkes (Cyndi's were better) and donuts and made our way slowly to a quick and kid friendly dinner before heading back home.

We lit candles every night and opened presents most nights.  Lincoln was so excited to sit on the couch and close his eyes and hold out his hands for presents and he loved all of his fun new stuff.  He is a spoiled much loved little guy. 

He was thrilled with his stuffy (think pillowpet-esque), a purple dragon with little pockets for "stuffing" (a toddler hoarders dream come true).  He has been all about his playdoh from T&Z, his Fireman dress-up stuff from A&A, and his Innotab 2S from Grandma & Grandpa i6.  Like I said he is one lucky and loved little dude. 

Team i6 Takes on The Lost Weeks

What?  What!  I know, I know I have been M.I.A for a bit.  Life has been, well, life.  I am tired.  I am feeling like I am a million months pregnant and blogging has really taken a backseat this time around.  But I am going to try to catch you all up on the happenings of The Isaacs' over the past few weeks.

We are continuing to get Linc's new room together.  The furniture delivery that we had been looking forward to did not go so smoothly.  As in the headboard was not made properly, and some holes were drilled too high and they had to reorder us a new one.  So like the one thing that was important to moving him into his new room, the bed, was the one thing that did not get setup.  Awesome.  Oh well, such is life.  the good news is that Linc is super duper excited to get into his new room.  He digs the new wall color and his firetruck theme, and he thinks his new furniture is cool...though he does keep trying to climb the nightstand.

We attended a really fun bday party for Linc's girl-pal Miss J.  It was a science party at a place called Curiosity Zone.  The kids had a blast.  They put them in little white lab coats, so cute.  And they learned the differences between certain animals, like alligators and crocodiles among other pairs. 

Lincoln got to play "baker man" and helped me mix up a batch of sugar cookies.  We had a good time and he was actually a really good helper and he loved helping me with the electric mixer.  Mommy did not really do a good job of reading the recipe ahead and realized after we got it mixed up we needed to have it be refrigerated for 12hrs before we could roll it and cut out cookies...opps.  It was still fun...and to be continued. 

We finally got around to finishing up cookies later in the weekend and even though I gave half the dough to The Aldersons it still made way more cookies that I figured it would.  Linc enjoyed rolling out the dough and did a pretty good job using the cookie cutters.

At School they started a new theme, Winter Wonderland.  They are reading books about polar bears and other Arctic creatures.  His teacher did a project with his class where they painted a polar bear and she also started a story and asked them to finish some of the sentences of the story, sort of mad-lib like, sort of.  His teacher said Lincoln tried to finish every sentence and barely let the other kids have a turn.  He was very enthusiastic...per usual. ;-)

Mama i6 Takes on Weeks 33, 34,(awww heck we are close enough) & 35

Total weight gain/loss: Still looking good.  I am well under what I gained with Lincoln, but I feel way hugererer than I did with  him.  I do however still have 5 weeks left so I might not want to start bragging yet, huh?
Maternity clothes? Yes and yes. 
Sleep: Rolling over is just about the hardest most awkward thing right now.  I seriously woke Todd up the other night groaning and whining as I was trying to turn on to my right side.  It was sad, I think he was concerned there was something really wrong, nope I was just tired and pissed I couldn't get enough momentum going to move. 
Best moment this week:  I got my fancy new diaper bag in the mail the other day.  I had to treat myself this time around and ordered a Kate Spade baby bag.  Though really I got it on Cyber Monday sale so while Todd still thinks it was a wildly outrageous price to pay for a baby bag, I love it and it was 70% off.  Isn't she pretty?

It's even bright pink on the inside.  Totally love love love it, can't wait to carry it everywhere! 
Movement: Yes, OMG so much!  She is seriously going crazy in there.  Just as active as her big brother...I've said it once I am sure...I'll say it again, we are in trouble.
Food cravings: Well I did in fact eat my fair share of latkes, so that craving has been taken care of.  Also enjoyed homemade sugar cookies and the goodies keep rolling in from work.  I remember having a weird craving not too long ago but now I can't remember what it was.  I know that I could really go for some John Wongs Chinese food right now though.
Gender: GIRL, or as Linc likes to call her "baby grwil" (kinda sounds like grill but there is a "w" sound slipped in there too)  It is adorable to hear him say.
Labor Signs: Not really and truly but I think, I think, I am feeling some braxton hicks contractions this time around.  They don't hurt but they feel really weird.
Belly button in or out? In-ish, kinda just barely.
What I miss: Whew, I am back into that being tired phase.  Holy cow, am I tired.  It is ridiculous the way I feel after going from the basement to the third floor of our house. 
What I am looking forward to: Having some quiet time at work while everyone is off for the holidays and being able to get things setup for when I will be out on maternity leave.  Another ultrasound next week at 36wks.  Seeing family when they come in to visit after baby girl is born.  Visiting Indiana in the spring.
Size of Baby:  (17 in long) pineapple at 33wks, (17.75 in long) average cantaloupe at 34wks, (18 in long) honeydew melon at 35wks 

Mama i6 Takes on Week 32

Total weight gain/loss: Uggg ok definitely went up after indulging in Thanksgiving :-/
Maternity clothes? Yep.
Sleep: Yep still not so hot.  Though Lincoln waking up at 4:30am asking for lemonade doesn't seem to help either...yeah not sure what that was about.
Best moment this week:  We had another sonogram this week.  Baby Girl is looking great, she is still measuring on the smaller side but everything is consistent.  She was even being cooperative and we got a pretty good 3D picture.

Food cravings: I am so ready for the latkes coming my way in the next week.

Labor Signs: Nope.

What I miss: Not being able to get around as easily, like I said last week I am feeling the slow down.

Team i6 Takes on Week 150

Let's jump back a bit to the beginning of the week, shall we? 

Linc had his very first Dentist appointment.  Daddy picked him up from school on Monday afternoon and took him to the Safari Dentist, recommended by Miss J's parents.  It did not disappoint, Todd said it was so awesome he wished he could go there, lol.  Anyway, Linc did a super job and had no problems letting them examine and clean his teeth!  And the report was that we are doing an excellent job with brushing and he has extra pearly whites and got an A+.  He is a million times more brave than his Mommy who hates the dentist with a passion...sorry all you dentists out there nothing personal I just don't like it.  Luckily Linc does not have my anxiety and did great!

This week was pretty productive as weeks go, which was fantastic.  When the i6 are up against a deadline we do some of our best work...and we are procrastinators for sure.  We spent a lot of time working on Linc's new room/the old guest room this week.  We taped, painted, hung a new fan/light fixture, and completed other various touchups. 

I think the wall colored turned out great, perhaps a little more blue than grey but still it fits the bill for what we were looking for and Linc thinks it rocks.  He wanted to help us so badly but you just cannot trust him with paint and well the fumes were not good for him or me to be around, so we let him pretend paint and he also pretended to be Handy Manny and "helped" us with the ceiling fan install.

We also had to fit in a trip to the pediatrician as well when we noticed Friday morning that Lincoln's left ear was looking kinda gross and leaky, ick.  So we got a late afternoon appointment.  The bad news was that Linc had a slight ear infection, but the good news was that his ear tubes were doing exactly what they were supposed to do and let the yuckiness (yep, there I go again with those technical terms) drain right out instead of building up pressure.  So he was not as bothered by it and we only needed to get a prescription for ear drops vs getting him on antibiotics and with in just a few days of treatments he seems back to normal. 

We are still all kind of struggling with colds, Daddy seems to have the worst of it right now, but hopefully it will pass us by sooner rather than later and we'll all be on the mend soon.  We are looking forward to the last few days of this break and continuing our productive streak and getting a little rest too. 

Team i6 Takes on Turkey Day

We opted to stay in town and have a very low key Thanksgiving this year since I am like a million months pregnant.  And also we really needed to make sure we got Linc's room done so that we could get his new furniture delivered soon.  So we hit up Honey Baked Ham and got a delectible and gigantic turkey breast and ham combo and called it a day...well that and I made a few sides to go along with it. 

Lincoln kept saying Happy Halloween instead of Happy Thanksgiving...I guess he just wasn't ready to let go of the Halloween fun yet.  Though by the end of the day he had Happy Thanksgiving down. 

At school they had been doing projects having to do with Thanksgiving and pumpkins and being thankful and what not.  Here are some of the pics I snapped of stuff around his classroom that the kids did.

The first is a pumpkin pie that they painted with some glue and then had them sprinkle spices on and then they asked them what it smelled like and a few other questions.  Linc's answer cracks me up...I can totally hear him saying it too.

Then they asked them what they were thankful for, but I guess they didn't really understand the concept of being thankful yet, so they asked them what they loved. 

I am so thankful that we have such a sweet, smart, funny, just all around awesome little guy.  And that we are going to be expanding our family to 4 very soon.

Mama i6 Takes on Week 31

Total weight gain/loss: No changes this week.
Maternity clothes? Yes yes yes, the more comfortable the better.  Never been a leggings girl before, but they are so my friend right now.
Sleep: I've turned a corner...and not a good one.  Sleep is a little rough right now.  It's not so much the getting to sleep part, it's the getting comfortable part.  It is such an effort to turn over in bed these days, sometimes I feel like such a beached whale, it sucks!

Worst moment this week: Like I said this week the fact that I am 30+ weeks pregnant has hit me hard.  And it seemingly came out of no where, I have been feeling great, still am really I mean it seems so much easier this time than last time, but still it is getting harder.  Also we have all been ever so slightly sick...and it is probably only going to get worse before it gets better.  
Movement: Uh huh yeah, still groovin in there.
Food cravings: Sushi has been on my brain recently.  Oh and the cranberry dessert that my Grandma Felkner used to make for holidays, and deviled eggs my Grandma Sparks made for get togethers.
Gender: Team Pink.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly button in or out? In-ish
What I miss: Wine would have been lovely with our Thanksgiving feast. 
What I am looking forward to: Getting Lincoln's big boy room finished.

Team i6 Takes on Picture Day

A few weeks ago was picture day for Linc at preschool.  And let me tell you they have come a long way in the school picture technology.  Back in the day we maybe got a choice of one other background, and those were pretty lame anyway.  Now...now...you get digital files, and more background than you can possibly imagine.  I amused myself for quite a while when we were looking at all the possibilities   We got to choose 6 btw.

His picture is so adorable!  I suppose I might be a little biased but seriously how cute is he?  He looks like such a big boy, sigh...

Team i6 Takes on Week 148/9

The weeks are just flying by now...and I am falling behind again.  Let's see how much I can remember from the past two weeks and get you all caught up.

I think I covered most of what we did two weeks ago in my weekly bumpdate and the extra posts about big brother class & picture day.  So I am going to move on.

We had a particularly crazy Saturday on Nov 10th.  Todd and I signed up for the Greater Washington Heart Walk that took place downtown.  We both signed up for my boss's team and Linc came along for the ride/walk.  The walk was downtown at The Washington National's stadium, so we hopped the metro eeeeaarrrly in the mornin' and we were off on our adventure.  And an adventure it was, there was track maintenance so we were forced off the train and on to a bus and then back on to a train, so of course Lincoln thought it was the BEST THING EVER!  Mommy and Daddy, not so much, but we finally made it to our desitnation and in time to meet up with my friend Alexis and her little guys Mr. W & Mr. H.  We all had a great time doing the 1mi walk and Linc loved walking on the actual baseball field.

And then it was time to start our trek back home which again involved a trip on the train, then bus, then train again, and then car.  Then nap!  For all of us really.  And once we were up it was time to go again and head to Linc's friend Miss T's birthday bash at Sports Bounce.  Linc and all his little preschool pals had a grand time bouncing all around for the afternoon.  Then it was time for pizza, cake, party hats, and pinatas.  By the time all was said and done I think all the kids and adults were thoroughly wore out!  I know I was...

Sunday was a cleaning day and time for us to again resume our prep of Linc's big boy room.  We have a lot of stuff in our closets, not quite to hoarder levels but still the amount of $h!# we can fill a closet with baffles me!  After we did some work and had nap we headed to The Alderson's for their housewarming party, where I believe I talked about my consumption of large amounts of rice krispies.  Lincoln had fun playing with all the kids and chowing down on pizza and veggies.  He always has the best time at Uncle Matt, Aunt Cyndi, Tyler & Zach's house, the socializing and the toys just can't be beat. ;-)

Mama i6 Takes on Week 30! (Ahhh only 10 more to go)

Total weight gain/loss: Up 2 lbs, I am sure it has nothing to do with all the rice krispies I ate at the Alderson's housewarming on Sunday...yeah nothing to do with that at all.  Also they may have had some virgin cosmos made up that were so good that one could have drank straight from the pitcher once all the other guests had gone...possibly, maybe...

Maternity clothes? Oh my, yes.  I have been still wearing normal sleep shirts and I am starting to wake up in the middle of the night because my belly is cold, lol.  I think I might need to find some longer sleep shirts.
Sleep: Eh, it's going alright.  I am starting to get a little bit of a cold or something, so I think that is hindering my sleep right now more than the whole being pregnant thing.  
Best moment this week: Well, gosh I think it is pretty darn hard to beat last week, so why bother right?  Though I will say that I had a good Dr. appt today and we are now officially scheduled for my c-section at 9am Thursday January 24th with my fave doctor in the practice so that's pretty good news!

Worst moment this week: Does car trouble count?  Yeah my car had a recall on a part that we didn't find out until after it started giving us trouble and left me stranded.  Thank goodness it stopped working as I was pulling into Linc's daycare and not traveling down the toll road.  All is well now, and the silver lining in all of this is that the fix was free and covered under the recall.  
Movement: Yep, lots and lots.  Sometimes I think she is seriously is jamming into my organs on a regular basis.
Food cravings: Still with the cake...
Gender: Team Pink.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly button in or out? In-ish
What I miss: Bending down to the ground to pick up toys or anything I may have dropped is getting harder and harder these days.
What I am looking forward to: Getting things in order.

Mama i6 Takes on Week 29

Total weight gain/loss: Not so sure this week, probably not much of a change though.
Maternity clothes? Daily.
Sleep: Ok, this week I have seen the return of my dreaded heartburn. And I just haven't slept well.  Boo   
Best moment this week: Definitely the SURPRISE baby sprinkle that Cyndi threw for me on Sunday.  Sneaky sneaky, she told me we were going Color Me Mine to paint some pottery and just hang out, and the next thing I knew I was surrounded by friends.  I was super surprised, I had no clue at all.  It was so much fun and I had the BEST time.  
Baby Girl and I are so lucky to have such great girlfriends!

Second best was our ultrasound this week.  Everything is looking good.  Baby Girl is still on the small side but everything is growing proportionately and that is what is important, she is just going to be petite (not that shocking really).

Worst moment this week: Getting my Rhogam shot this week.  Man you really forget how much that hurts in between times having to get it.  Whew, that shot really took my breath away.    
Movement: YES.
Food cravings: I could really go for a piece of cake right now, any kind, just cake.
Gender: Team Pink.
Labor Signs: Nope.

Lil' i6 Takes on Learning to be a Big Brother

Lincoln spent his Saturday morning taking a sibling class at the Hospital that I will be delivering at come January.  We found out about the class through my OB's office.  They have it once a month and they have a 3-4yr old class and a 5-6yr old class.  We kinda rounded up with Linc's age but they didn't seem to care much.  

Linc's friend Miss J also took the class since she will be getting a little sister in January as well.  They did pretty good sitting next to each other and paid attention most of the class.  They learned how to hold, feed, burp, diaper, and swaddle the baby.  And to ALWAYS ask Mommy or Daddy first before they touch the baby.  Now lets me real here, we do not intend to actually let Linc change Baby Girl's diaper by himself but it was nice to show him how he can be a big brother and can help when the baby comes.  

They got little coloring books that also had some nice tips in the front and back for us to help with the transition.  And they got a certificate for completing the class.

Team i6 Takes on Week 147

There was lots of Halloween fun going this week!

It all started off with Lincoln going to a friend's Birthday party, a costume one at that.  It was so super cute to see all his little friends dressed up and ready to party.  There was a costume parade with prize (they all won a special "best of" award), party games, foam pumpkin decorating, and of course yummy yummy food & cake!  Linc had a blast.  I think one of the faves was the "who's your mummy" game where they each took turns getting wrapped up like little mummies, but then that quickly turned into an early tutorial on TPing a house/room.

After that we headed to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum for a little Air & Scare trick-or-treating.  Daddy was volunteering through work at a kids learning activity booth so Linc and I walked around and meet some fun robots & Star Wars characters, did some activities, and got some candy.  Lincoln was pretty excited to meet R2D2.

Sunday was a cleaning day and we did a little grocery shopping in preparation of dundundun Hurricane Sandy.  We strapped down all our outside furniture, found our flashlights and candles, made sure we had bread and peanut butter, charged our phones, and filled up our bath tub just in case.  And then waited.  and waited.  and waited for it all to go down.  Even though Linc's school was closed, and the Government was closed, and my work told everyone who could to telecommute, we were very lucky and nothing much really ended up happening.  And do get me wrong I am quite thankful it was uneventful...but it was quite anticlimactic and just made for three really stir crazy (especially Lincoln) i6s trapped in a house during all that rain.  We did make it out for a little bit on Tuesday to walk around the mall a little, ride the train and grab some lunch.  

And then things were back to normal by Wednesday...including our Halloween plans, which was especially exciting since we weren't sure if Halloween was going to be cancelled due to the weather.  

After work & preschool we headed over to Uncle Matt & Aunt Cyndi's house for some good ol' door to door trick-or-treating.  Captain Linc had fun with his pals Za-Mario & Ty-Luigi and we all made it to about a dozen or so houses.  Though about halfway through Linc kept asking to go back to Uncle Matt & Aunt Cyndi's house so he could play with Zach and Tyler's toys.  We had lots and lots of fun.

Thursday was my birthday.  It's harder and harder to get excited about those as you get older ya know?  But I had a good day and Todd took us out to dinner to Texas Roadhouse and it was delish.  We jived to country music and ate up our steak & potatoes, I felt for a moment I was back in good ol' Indiana, lol.  And then we stopped for some froyo to top off the night, where Lincoln proceeded to insist we get chocolate but then ate all of Mommy & Daddy's pumpkin froyo. 

And Friday Friday Friday we had Lincoln's first Parent/Teacher conference as a preschooler!!!!  We had a nice looooong chat with Linc's teacher, not because of anything bad.  Luckily  no one signed up for the slot after us so we just got to talk and ask lots of questions and hear all about our bright little boy.  He is doing so well!  She was telling us how he loves to use safety scissors and could cut paper for hours, lol.  Linc can say his abc's, he knows L is the first letter in his name is very close to being able to spell "Linc".  She told us a few cute stories but sadly they are not coming to me right now, but maybe they will and I will add them to the "Things I keep meaning to tell you" post I have chilling in my draft folder.

Mama i6 Takes on Week 28

Total weight gain/loss: Holdin' steady this week.
Maternity clothes? Daily.
Sleep: Yes please, as much as I can get right now.  And with a few extra days off of work due to Linc's school being closed for the hurricane we all got an extra hr in the mornings since we didn't have to get up and get ready like normal.  It was beautiful.   
Best moment this week: Two of my favorite days happened to fall on this week...Halloween and my Birthday.  So I'd say it was just a great week all around.  And like I said before we had an extended weekend due to Sandy even though she didn't really live up to the hype here (thankfully). I did have to do work from home but it was still nice to snuggle on the couch with my laptop vs having to be in the office.

Worst moment this week: .Just the anticipation of that crazy Sandy Hurricane.  Sitting here waiting for it to hit and listening to all the hype in this area did kinda have us all wound up and freaked out.  Luckily we did not get it as bad as many of the other parts of the east coast.  And we never lost power and our only damage was just slight bit of water leakage coming in through our sliding doors in the basement, but nothing a couple of old towels couldn't handle.    
Movement: Lots. And lots.  And lots.
Food cravings: Hot bean dip.  My mom always made it on Halloween and we would pass out candy to trick or treat-ers and have chips and dip for dinner.  So now I always make it around Halloween and Linc loves it.  It is a big hit in our household.
Gender: Team Pink.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly button in or out? In.
What I miss: Nothing new this week.
What I am looking forward to: Getting things in order.

Team i6 Takes on Week 146

To say our weekends for the next month will be extra busy would be an understatement for sure.  We have birthdays and halloween events and fall fun and housewarmings and more birthdays and thankgsgiving and nesting & cleaning for baby girl and furniture deliveries!  SO much going on!  But we are excited and ready to share with you all the fun...so here's what happened this past week.

Saturday we headed to a Birthday party for our neighbor's little guy who turned 1.  It was a Sesame Street themed party and it was a blast.  Linc danced his little heart out to the DJ who spun Sesame Street tunes. 

And later there were surprise guests of Elmo & Big Bird who danced and played with the kids. 

And seriously, check out this sweets table for the kids!  Unreal!

Then we started to have a melt down and it was time to say bye bye to Elmo & Big Bird & Birthday boy Mr. A and head home.

Sunday my nesting instinct had kicked in full gear and we worked on cleaning out and up Linc's toys in the living room, swaping stuff out and putting away toys he had grown out of.  We clean out our coat closet and have several donation piles lined up.  We continued to work on getting the old guest room ready to be Linc's new big boy room and cleaned out the closet in his current room/nursery to make room for all of Baby Girl's stuff.

Tuesday I had a Dr. appt and Todd went with me so we could talk to the Dr. about some concerns we had and potentially schedule my c-section (which you prob saw in the bumpdate will be Jan 24th).  It was a good appt and my Dr. eased our minds and layed to rest some concerns we had about Baby Girl measuring a week and some change behind.  She is doing well and they will just keep us coming back for more ultrasounds to keep tracking her growth rate but all in all everything is fine so we are going to chill out.

Wednesday we had a Chili dinner at Linc's school and had fun eating dinner in his classroom and meeting some of his new classmates & parents.  It was fun to see all his artwork around the room and see him playing with all his school friends.  Not to mention it was nice to see him sitting in a chair, not strapped in like at home and staying put at the table eating his dinner, haha.

We get weekly updates/newsletters from his teacher telling us about their week and what they did.  This weeks letter was pretty cute and Linc got a shout out.

"Dear Blueberry Parents,
We had so much fun making our scarecrow this Monday. The children took turns painting her face blue and made her some colorful 'designer' jeans. They helped me crumple up newspaper and stuff it inside her shirt and pants and last of all made her a beautiful necklace. When I asked the children if they knew a girl's name Lincoln said 'Lady' and so our scarecrow became Lady Blueberry. She will be hanging around with the rest of her scarecrow friends in the preschool for a few more weeks."

So it was pretty funny, and his teacher asked me if we had a dog named "Lady" or something that made him come up with that name...I laughed and told her, nope we have two boy dogs and neither of their names are Lady so not sure where that came from (and just for anyone wondering that is not the name we are considering for Baby Girl, lol) Just kinda made me laugh.  So anyway, here is Lady Blueberry.
