Sob. And it is all my fault. I was desperate to try to fix my baby girl's mullet situation. It did not go well. Though I suppose if I were trying to look at the bright side...
Silver lining #1: Delilah sat perfectly still for the woman cutting her hair. Won't sit still for me to do anything to her hair but if you are a teacher or a perfect stranger, sure, do what you want.
Silver lining #2: The mullet is gone, however, so is most of the rest of her hair besides the topmost layer. But I suppose someday when it does all start growing back out it will look better in the long run.
Silver lining #3: It was free due to my look of complete and utter despair during the haircut & my repeated declarations that it was too short, TOO SHORT, ftlog stop cutting woman. (please note that I may be slightly melodramatic about this, or so Todd tells me)
Silver lining #4: Delilah must sense the hair emergency that has occurred and now willfully reaches for and picks out headbands to wear every.single.morning. I have not been successful in getting her to wear a headband since oh lets see about when she was 9 months old. Although sometimes she just wants to wear all of the things...and that really is a look let me tell you.
We like our weekends jam packed full of fun. And we've had quite a few lately that we just go go go! I love it. If we're not busy we're not livin'!
I'm gonna run through some of the notables.
Touch a Truck event at the Mall. Fact: my kids love firetrucks. And hats. And rescue jet skis. I mean, really, who doesn't? #amiright?
Park time. We had a fab group playdate at our fav park in Ashburn. And then pizza party at Bertucci's afterwards.
Playdate with Lincoln's bestie. So nice to chill and grill and hang out in a sandbox (well the kids anyway). What a way to spend a beautiful weekend day.
Enjoyed scoping out the towns around our new 'hood. Celebrate South Riding won out over Celebrate Fairfax this year. We are LoCo (Loudoun County) from here on out baby. It was a much smaller fair but a lot more our speed with two kiddos and a good value. We had a blast hanging out with the Riordans (our soon to be neighborhood next to ours neighbors). Z is D's future boyfriend you know. And did I mention there were lions and tigers at this fair? Because there were and they were awesome!

Pool time baby. Just chillin out maxin relaxing by the pool. This is one of two in our new community. We decided to check out the one located in the the other Willowsford Village since we'll likely end up spending more time at the closer one in our own Village, so why not scope out the other one until then. It was pretty sweet. Baby pool, kid pool, adult pool, playground, water cannons, water features, duck mascot (just kidding, but a random duck did make a nest in the landscaping and Lincoln was totally into it's business) cabanas, what is not to love?!? We will be spending a lot of time here I am sure!
Goodbyes are sad & hard, but sometimes they are for the better good. We just said goodbye to our beloved daycare center in Reston. We LOVED it there. But with the move to the new house it was just not going to be possible for us to continue to trek there for childcare. We were so sad to leave, I was so sad I literally did not set a foot in there the whole last week. I just could not. I would burst in to tears for sure. So Todd was brave and awesome and did all the pickups and drop offs like the rockstar daddy he is.
Last day of school at Reston.
And after that rough day it was so fun to meet up with the Aldersons for a little Herndon-fest. We had a picnic and the boys rode some rides & played a game. Ended the night with a little ice cream.
And then it was time to say hello. Hello to a wonderful new school that will be closer to the new house. A more direct path to our places of work and a better commute all around for us. Yay! Somehow we got lucky with some of the most laid back kids ever and they were all like, what a new school ok that's cool...let's so this. And they did, they had stellar first weeks and their teachers love them so much already! Delilah had a bit of a hiccup by getting an ear infection early week and having a couple of crummy feeling days but she was back to normal in no time and running that school. ;-)
We hit the road recently to OH. It was a fun filled, grandparent filled, new cousin filled weekend! And loads of FUN! It did get a little dicey when Todd somehow managed to contract strep and delayed our trip home by a day. But it was still a very lovely visit.
We got to spend lots of time with this little beauty.
Our newest niece Eva. I thought that I birthed the most chill babies in existence... But then I met Eva, who has got to be the most relaxed, precious little thing ever. Love her!
Todd made my cle dreams come true by driving me & the kids to Coventry to Big Fun so that I could cram us all into an old time photobooth for D's first photobooth picture. SO fun & cute. I love that we did this with Lincoln at around the same age and the looks on their faces are almost identical and oh so priceless. And bonus we got to show Lincoln a bunch of old school Transformer toys which he loved.

We spent some time out at Jellystone, always a fan fave. Lincoln had fun in his gator that Grammy brought for him to ride, and he liked swimming at the pool, and riding the golf cart.
As always it was a very good trip back. So happy to see everyone and sad to leave.
