Team i6 Takes on Singing the Sh'ma

Each night after Lincoln has exhausted his library of books or Mommy's patients of reading said books over and over we end our night time ritual with reading Goodnight Sh'ma.  It is just a quick read a few lines on each page and the last page is the Sh'ma in Hebrew and English.  Recently Lincoln has started to sing it with me & it is so so sweet.

Below is my attempt at recording us on my iphone and also my first time attempting to post said audio on a hosting site so that I could add it into a blog post.

Team i6 Takes on Week 111

As promised we will be exponentially more exciting this week than last.  Viva la Isaacs!

Well, lets start with Saturday, ok?  OK!  It starts with a breakfast of tasty pancakes & eggs - large, brown, & organic - breakfast of champions I say.  Then Todd headed to class, well up to our bedroom with the laptop anyway.  Linc and I watched some cartoons and had a lazy morning and headed out the door to the Mall around 10:50am.  I was on a mission to get Linc's hairs cut, ears lowered, ect.  I wanted to get there early because I didn't want to have to wait 30min, I wanted to get it over with because I don't know if you all recall - I do let me tell you - but Linc does not do well at haircuts.  I was prepared, I had all sorts of stuff in my purse to bribe and distract.  I was ready, so ready.  We got there put our name on the list, yeah at opening 11am there were already 5 names ahead of us, but they are quick and we only stood there for about 5min before we were up.  And that's when this happened.

My baby sat there like a big boy and got his hairs cut, no crying, no wiggling.  And afterwards he got an orange sucker as a reward, well at least a few licks of one before I threw it away (cuz I am mean, and I know it - full discloser I just sang that in my head LMFAO style).  We then continued on to our next mission which was Asian market shopping to pick up supplies for Pho later that night with The Aldersons.  It took us about 1hr to get in and out but it was a success and we even came out with "authentic" soup spoons, score!

Around 5ish Matt, Cyn, Tyler & Zach came over & bouncefest commenced.  First T&Z on their own and then we added in the crazy that is Lincoln.  They managed not to mash into each other too much & there were no bounce induced injuries so I call it a WIN!  Once everyone one was good and tired we headed upstairs for dinner.

Sunday was pretty typical, until 3pm hit and Mommy and Lincoln were on the road and heading into the city for Disney on Ice.  We left in plenty of time and good thing we did because downtown was crazy busy.  It took me no time to make it down to Independence Ave, but from there it took me 30min alone just to go a few blocks! 

Police had roads blocked I needed to turn down so we had to improvise and find other parking, but we made it just in time.  We were up in the company suite with 5mins to showtime.  Linc got introduced to the other kiddos and settled into his front row box seat.

He was especially excited during the Pinocchio production when the big ol' whale came out and swallowed them all up!  He thought that part was cool.

There was a good bit of Princess stuff in the middle that he did ok with - clearly he liked the Mulan parts with the big dragon best (he is such a boy)...but you could tell he was really into it when they hit the good stuff like The Incrediables & Lion King. 

He enjoyed his complimentary Hebrew National hotdog at intermission.  And finished out the show like a champ, no fussiness for sitting still that long, though I am sure it helped having a suite to run around in and the choice of pretty much any one of 18 seats - oh and the pyrotechnics. ;-)

Afterwards Linc got his souvenir and we headed towards the car...1hr later we made it out of the parking garage and were on our way home.  What a night!  Super fun, but man were we wore out!

Monday was Presidents Day so Linc didn't have school and he spent the day home with us.  We ran some errands, I worked from home some in the afternoon & Daddy did some research.  We also finally gave in and Daddy turned Linc's carseat around to forward facing in my car.  We are all happy with this change.

Team i6 Takes on The Suite Life: Disney Style

I will post more in the weekly update but...we had a fabulous time at Disney on Ice and Linc was glued to his seat!  Well the edge of it anyway, he kinda had to be so that he didn't get folded up in it since he doesn't weigh quite enough to hold down theater type seats all the way.  But anyway...he had the time of his little 2yr old life bopping along to the music and watching all the characters on the ice. 

Also I am a sucker when it comes to souvenirs, so my baby got his $20 light stick thing-a-ma-jig that all the kiddos around us had and it made him very happy!  You can't tell from the picture, but it is the dad character from the Incrediables with some wierd thing on his back, I don't get it but it lights up and moves and it is a superhero and he loves it.

Another wonderful week here in the land-o-i6. 

We had the most delightful visit with The Isaacs' family and I think my sweet sister-in-law captured the whole weekend perfectly when she recapped it on her/their blog "Our Married Life...".

I will add a few pictures and a video here to round out the narrative of the weekend.

And one super adorable thing that Lincoln started doing over the weekend was say "where are you (insert thing/person here), where are you?" and then turn in a little circle looking all around.  But in the hours after all of the i6 fam left he was wondering around saying "where are you, grandpa, where are you?"  it was so adorable and so sad all at the same time. 


Beyond the fun of family, wineries, fun presents, and organizing trips to The Container Store...brings us to Valentine's Day which I posted about below.  So the rest of this week we have just been pretty boring, I think it almost needed to be so we could catch our breath.  I promise we will be more entertaining next week. 

Wait for it...WAIT for it...

Like...Disney on Ice from the Verizon Center suite level company box, entertaining.  Which is where Lincoln & I will be living it up this coming Sunday afternoon, thanks to some really fantastic Executive Assistants/ coworkers/friends (oh and a pretty great company that we work for too).  So stay tuned for that!  We are also very much looking forward to a playdate w/ T & Z on Saturday afternoon, I am thinking this will involve some bouncy house action in the i6 basement-o-fun.  Yes definitely, I think so!

Team i6 Takes on A Very Happy Valentine's Day

First off...

Team i6 had a fabulous Valentine's Day that started a day early.  When I came home Monday evening after running to the grocery store while Todd picked up Lincoln...SURPRISE our babysitter, Mary, was there entertaining Linc and Todd whisked me off for a lovely date night!  (Well, after I put away all the perishables first)  So off we headed to a fantastic dinner at The Palm Restaurant where Todd had made reservations.  Fancy, I know.  The food was so SO good, our server was the best, we had great wine, everything about it was perfect!  Then we went and had coffee and headed home just in time to put Linc to bed.  Also Feb 13th just happens to be a pretty wonderful night in it's own right for Todd & I, since 8 years ago Todd surprised me (that time he had some help from Matt & Cyndi) and asked me to marry him.

Lincoln had a great 2nd Valentine's Day.  He wore a special Valentine's Day shirt to school.  He got to wear it one other time before I sent him to school in it - I knew it would be ruined by the end of the day and boy was I right...I cannot buy my child white cloths!  RIP cute Valentine's shirt from babygap.  Maybe I can die the white part pink or something.

So anyway, moving on, I was that over achieving Mommy who made valentines (the ones I posted about below) for his whole class even though technically they don't start doing class valentines until he hits the next classroom level.  But you know what, the idea I found was so cute I could not resist.  He did get a valentine in return at school from sweet little Miss J.

I made my two favorite guys a giant pan of lasagna and garlic bread too.  YUM.  And for dessert I made strawberry cheesecake bars.  Though instead of cheesecake, Lincoln got to finally enjoy his vanilla cupcake from Sweetz Bakery that we saved for him from this past weekend.  After dinner Todd & Linc got to open thier Valentines, Linc opened a card from his Grammy (an ELMO one) & he got a new book, Snuggle Puppy, from Mommy & Daddy. 

Team i6 Takes on Week 109

Well, hello there Friday.  So good to see you again...lets do this!

Here's what's shakin' in der Isaacs' Haus:

We are now a germ free household!  Well, I guess I should really just say we are a flu free household, I am sure there are still plenty of toddler germs floating around the place. 

Saturday again Todd was in class, and he will continue to be for the next 4 Saturdays (all day)...so Linc and I headed out to Tot Shabbat on our own.  Man, is that kid hard work to wrangle one-on-one,  you really have to double team that boy!  I had to be at the top of my game, I mean I was running constantly to keep him from opening the Arc of the Torah.  And then when they did bring it out he kept trying to touch it, the Rabbi told him he had to wait until his Bar Mitzvah and cracked that we could reserve his date now if we wanted. ;-)

Sunday we had Gymboree and then we cleaned (Lincoln called Swiffer duty, though to be fair there was more air guitar than actual Swiffering) and got ready to have Uncle Tony over for a visit & we watched the Super Bowl.  We  had pizza for dinner that night and here is an adorable Lincolism: he calls pepperonis - "puppy-ronis".  cute cute cute! 

It was another jam packed work week, but we were able to make some time to get together with our friends The N's at their house Thursday night for dinner & a playdate.  The boys had lots of fun playing with trains & trucks & pretty much dragging out every. single. toy. in the whole house.  We definitely owe them dinner & a playdate at our house next so the boys can have a grand time ransacking our basement & main level! 

And lastly I will give yall the debrief on Operation: No More Paci.  The mission was hard at times, but necessary.  We learned you have to attack these these types of Operations head-on and there is definitely no turning back.  But if you remain vigilant & strong you will emerge victorious.  By day five Linc had all but forgotten about his dear paci & stopped asking for it completely.  I think we can call this Op a success.

Team i6 Takes on O'fish'ally Handmade Valentines

A few weeks ago I was perusing Pinterest and came across some inspiration for valentines for Lincoln to give to his classmates at daycare.  As soon as I saw these cute goldfish valentines from Tammy Mitchell's blog I knew I had to make them!

I created my own tags, though she has a link to be able to print the same tags she used.  But I wanted mine to say two different sayings so I just made my own, I used powerpoint & it was easy.  I think they turned out super cute and I am excited to drop them off on Valentine's Day to Linc's little friends at school. 

I spent Saturday's naptime putting them all together.  With family in town this next weekend I was worried I wouldn't get to them in time if I put it off until Monday night.  So they are all done and sealed up tight in ziplock gallon bags to maximize the freshness of the fishies!  ;-)

I found the boxes in the wedding aisle at Michaels, $5.99 and I used a 40% coupon.  I used the decoritive punch that I purchased to do cupcake toppers for Linc's birthday & construction paper we already had.  It took 1/2 of 1 bag of goldfish of the 3 bags that comes in the masive box from BJs Wholesale - so basically I made them for very little $$.

Here's what happenin' in the Isaacs' household these days.


A great weekend was had by all.  It was filled with playing & fun, a Mommy & Lincoln day out since Daddy was in class all Saturday, and a few meals out (giving Mommy a bit of a break from the kitchen).  Linc certainly enjoyed his Mediterranean Tapas experience Saturday night. 

He also provided table side entertainment for the other guests & waitstaff.  His new party trick as seen below.  You are so welcome world. 

Aaaannnddd then mid-week Mama got the flu...and it S.U.C.K.E.D!

Of course it all went down on a day Todd had to work late, luckily he was able to leave work long enough to go pick up Linc at daycare and drop him back off to me.  That was an immense help since I wasn't so sure I'd be able to hold on to my cookies long enough to try to make it across town and back.  Not only that, but he also picked up dinner for him and the munchkin, cuz yeah he is Super Daddy and that's how he rolls.  So it was just me and the kid from 5ish-7ish... we watched a lot of Nick Jr & Caillou (don't judge...ps: thank g-d for On Demand)!

All I can hope is that the rest of the household can keep clear of catching my cooties. At least the boys had their flu shots this year so they have a fighting chance. Also note to self do NOT miss flu shot days at work ever again! Ever...again...uhggggggg

We interrupt this blog post with BREAKING NEWS:
Todd seems to have come down with some sort of variation of the S1F2 (or what I am referring to as my flu of 2012).  We will now leave you to your regularly scheduled blog reading already in progress.


So yeah, that's been our week.  Hooray for winter, which our friend the groundhog says we get 6 more weeks of.
