We met up with The G’s and some other friends at the Prince George’s County Fair. It was a blast! So much more like the fair that I had grown up with at home in Indiana. It was much bigger than the Fairfax County 4H Fair that is held on a small farm/park grounds near where we live. This was a little more of a hike for us but it was big and full of rides and animals. I loved how it made me think of home and all the summers growing up going to the fair with my friends.
Lincoln thought it was great too and not just because he got to hang out with Julia, but that was definitely an added bonus. He talks about how he misses seeing her at school a lot. They had a fun riding some rides and exploring before we headed to the grandstands for the rodeo show.
We were all fascinated by the show. There were bucking bulls, cowboys and cowgirls, crazy horses, and just so much to take in. The kids loved watching the bull riding, Lincoln called it cow riding though…because well why would COWboys be riding bulls…then they would be BULLboys. Well, kid, I suppose you have a point.
After we had our fill of rodeo we headed back to the car but hit up a few of the animal barns on the way and of course got some fresh churned ice cream from the Dairy Club. YUM!
