We picked out everything for the house ourselves: the floor plan, the additions/bump outs, the interior design options, the exterior color and design. We are so grateful to be able to do this and build a forever home for our family that we love and will grow into for years to come.
I am just now posting about it because we are finally getting to the point where it feels real! There is a lot that happens between the time you sign on the dotted line with a builder and actual construction. Like about 2 months worth of stuff.
You have to visit the design center and pick your options, which was totally fun! And I just adore our choices. You can critique our choices in private, but if you ever visit our home please tell me how much you love it. ;-) LOL

Then there is lots of waiting while they file paperwork and get permits. And this time feels like FOREVER.
Waiting. Still waiting. Like I said, 2 months worth of nothing.
And then BOOM it's time for the pre-construction consultation. That is where things start to get fun & feel real. And that is where we are now.
Earlier in the week last week we headed to the above mentioned meeting. And just before we decided to drive by our site....
This is what we saw! Dirt. Piles of moved dirt & a big ol' hole! OMG it is real. It is really real. We are building a house!
