Week 11

Lincoln Sharing the Boppy with his Pal Guinness

How old? 2 Months 18 days
Total weight gain/loss: 10.2 lbs
Baby clothes? Wishing it were just a little bit warmer so that he could start to wear some of his cute summer stuff. Soon enough he will be in them! Bring on Spring & Summer! Oh & I bought him is first pair of sunglasses this last week - so cute! Sleep: Life is good here, getting lots of sleep. We discovered a halo sleepsack that also has an add-on piece that lets you swaddle baby's arms down but they have their legs free. So far this is a great find for us, Linc likes it a lot and is sleeping well with it. Bonus it Velcros so he stays swaddled and he hasn't been able to get his arms out by morning.
Best moment this week: Trip to Cleveland hands down! The drive went really well, except for the weather, but we only had to stop once on the way and on the return trip as well. We got to hang out with the family a lot and Grandma & Grandpa Isaacs got to spend quite a bit of time with Linc. There was an open house on Saturday so all of our friends and family could stop by and meet Lincoln. And what would a party in Cleveland be without cassada cake?

We also were able to stop by and visit Todd's Grandma Florence, Lincoln's Great Grandma. She was so excited to meet him, and he was so good and gave her great big smiles! It was a really great visit.

Four Generations of Isaacs'

Worst moment this week: Uch, the driving weather to Cleveland snowy wintery mix, yuck! And then the drive home was heavy rain. At least Linc slept most of the way.
Movement: One of our friends in Cleveland let us borrow some baby items while we were in town so we didn't have to lug a bunch of stuff with us. Well one of the items was the Fisher-Price Aquarium Bouncer and Lincoln is in love. He is soooo enamoured with this thing, he just smiles and coos and laughs when he is sitting in it. He just loves to watch the fish move around and the water bubble up. He likes to kick his feet to hit the little dangling fish & seahorse. Luckily Lindsey was nice enough to let us borrow it and bring it back to DC, I think Linc would have been sad to leave it, lol!


What I am looking forward to: Cuddling with Lincoln this week, it is our last week together before I start back to work and he starts daycare.
Also Linc has a 3 month check up and a few more vaccinations this week, I am looking forward to seeing how much he as grown. He seems so much longer than just a month ago.
Milestones: Reading to your baby, even at this young age, will pay off. Hearing you read helps your baby develop an ear for the cadence of spoken language. Varying the pitch of your voice, using accents, and singing will make the connection between you and your baby that much more interesting. If your baby looks the other way or loses interest while you're reading, just try doing something else and give her time to rest. Take your cue from your baby's responses. You'll find plenty of good books to read to your baby — such as Goodnight Moon, Good Night Gorilla, and The Big Red Barn. Choose board books that have large, bright pictures and simple text — or even wordless books with pictures for you to narrate. At this point you don't have to be slavish to age guidelines. Books designed for older children can captivate a baby if they have clear, crisp images and bright colors. Right now Lincoln's fave book is Baby Bear, Baby Bear.
