Our First Parent-Teacher Conference

Linc is a star pupil.

We had our first parent-teacher conference today at our daycare.  We sat down with Lincoln's primary caregiver and she filled us in on his developmental, physical, & social improvements.

She said that he is right on track and even ahead in many areas.  He is not so great with sharing of toys, but as one of the "only child" kids in his class that is kinda to be expected.  He is really good about sharing food though, which is funny.  She said that he likes to sit with the little babies while they are in their bouncers and if they get upset or cry he tries to soothe them by gently bouncing them - so adorable - that made my heart melt right there.  But then she also said that he likes to take their pacies away to see what their reactions are, and then tries to put them back when/if they cry - we'll have to work on that.  She also said that they can tell that we read to Linc at home because he does exceptionally well with books and turning pages, and that he doesn't try to chew on the books like sometimes children his age do.  And lastly she let us know that in the next few weeks they are going to begin transitioning Lincoln to the toddler room, the Ladybugs, where he will start full time sometime in January.  She said sometimes Linc seems bored in the Butterfly room, so we are excited for this change and the fun learning challenges that it will offer him.  Bonus is that in the Ladybug room they get to start music and movement class with Ms. Nell, the music leader for Tot Shabbat at our temple, so that will be a familiar face for Lincoln.
