Week 85

How old? 19 Months 18 Days

Weight: 27.5 lbs

Sleep: Ahhh, it has been so so nice lately since the little man has been sleeping fabulously through the night and playing quietly in his crib every morning until we go down to get him ready.  And he always greets us with a huge smile, he is just the happiest little camper in the mornings.  He likes to stand at his crib rail and "whistle" and call for his puppies to come see him.
We did have one bad moment this week, but it was a true fluke...I'll talk about it a little further down.
Food: We had a super yummy dinner out Sunday night at a local pizza place.  Lincoln was really digging his pesto chicken pasta!  If you give that boy a carb he is good to go for any meal.

Best Moment This Week:  Surviving an earthquake?!?  I mean other than that it was a pretty uneventful week around here.  We have been in full on prep mode for our trip this weekend.  Packing & running errands has pretty much consumed this week.

Daddy unistalled the carseat from his car so we could take it with us on our trip.  Lincoln thought it was pretty fun that it was sitting in our living room and wanted to sit in it and be buckled in.  He is such a funny little guy!

Worst Moment This Week:  Wednesday morning around 1am Lincoln woke up and was crying really hard, like the kind of crying that tells you something is wrong.  So Todd and I immediately jumped out of bed and went down to see what was up.  Linc was totally upset and it took a good while to calm him down, but after a sippy of water and some cuddling with Mommy he was back asleep.  We still really didn't know what woke up our little howler monkey and were still slightly concerned but he didn't wake up again so we thought maybe a bad dream.  Turns out it was an aftershock that we slept through but Linc felt and it really freaked him out!  Poor little guy

Movement: We are getting in the habit of having Linc brush his teeth every night before bed.  Sometimes Daddy brushes his teeth with him.

Milestones: Tiny helper; dYour child loves to help: "Me do it" and "By self!" are two of a toddler's favorite declarations. Take advantage of that built-in desire by involving your child in simple chores.

Many jobs are beyond his ability, but he can work alongside you to help with simple tasks, such as putting dirty spoons in the dishwasher, wiping up his own food spills, watering plants, or placing napkins on the table. Taking part in household activities makes your 20-month-old feel important – like a contributing member of the team.

Toddlers don't distinguish between work and play. They just like to do. Encourage this attitude now, and your child may be an ongoing helper around the house. Be sure to offer specific approving praise, whether or not the job is done perfectly: "Wow, thanks for putting all those napkins on the plates!"
