Giving New Meaning to "Laptop"

How old? 16 Months 26 Days
Weight: 25ish lbs
Sleep: Good.  For some reason though Lincoln has been steadily trying to push his bedtime later and later this week.   It's not really working for him though, at least not in the sense that we let him stay downstairs and play longer.  Now in his crib is another story, most nights this week we have done our normal bedtime routine and after he is rocked a little bit he goes in his crib for some quiet awake time where sometimes he reads a book or just plays quietly until  he falls asleep.  He's been quite the early bird this week too, but again he just kind of babbles and plays until we come down and get him dressed.
Food: Some nights I think we could call him "the bottomless pit" and other nights everything we try to feed him we are met with "no no no".  Ahhhh the joys of toddlerhood!  ::repeat mantra to self "this is just a phase"::

Best Moment This Week:  We had a pretty busy Memorial three day weekend.  Saturday we ran errands and did some grocery shopping and opened the pool up (and by that I mean Todd found it in the storage closet and he blew it up while Linc and I watched).  

Sunday we did Gymboree in the morning, trying out the older class and Linc did really well and had lots of fun.  In the afternoon after nap time we went to an event at Loudoun Valley Vineyard called The Bark & Wine, where you can bring your dog(s) and walk on a path through the vineyard and then have a tasting and glass of wine on the patio and the proceeds go to HART Rescue.  It was a great time, we packed little picnic and took Guinness along (we left Alex at home, a place with too many other dogs is not really his scene and he'd be happier napping at home in the quiet, he's an old man ya know) and Linc had fun wondering the grape fields while on our walk.  

Monday we had a nice relaxing morning and I made us all a big breakfast and afterwards we decided to fill the pool up so it had time to warm up so that Linc could get some laps in later.  After naptime we went and got Linc a cool new haircut, his summer cut if you will...really it's not that short but much needed.  Then it was home for a dip in the pool.  The Alderson boys even came out to chill poolside for a little bit.  A good time was had by all.
The work week went by really quickly but we won't complain about that at all!
Worst Moment This Week: Somewhere along the way, and by that I mean with the last week, Linc has decided that he is to bath time like oil is to water, they just don't mix baby.  Sunday after a long hot day at the Bark & Wine event we decided that after dinner a bath was a necessity for the Lincster.   Well he was not having any of it, lots of crying ensued as soon as his tuchus hit the water and we had decided that perhaps he was just over tired and we'd just get through it as best we could and get him to bed.  Well fast forward to the next bath when we thought things would be back to normal, boy were we wrong!  So bathtime at casa de Isaacs is super fun right now.  I just bought a new tub toy this week to see if it helps any with the excitement of bathtime.  ::repeat mantra to self "this is just a phase"::
**Update, we used the new tub toy and as of Friday night we are back on track for baths, best thing we ever bought, could not love this toy more!!!

Milestones:  Toddlers are funny – even when they're doing something they shouldn't. It's hard not to laugh, but your smiles send the message that you don't really mind your child bouncing on the sofa with her shoes on or taking every tissue out of the box, one by one. Kids this age understand far more words than they can speak, but the language they know best of all is body language. A smile cancels out a "don't do that" every time.

When your child does something you don't like, be sure your face and voice convey your displeasure. Don't yell, but do frown and use a disapproving tone when you say, "No pulling out tissues. Tissues stay in the box." Be consistent, too. If you correct a transgression once but ignore it the next time, you send confusing signals about your expectations.
