Weekend Round-up: Busy Mornings & Relaxing Evenings

This weekend was not starting out on a great note when we got a call from our daycare at the end of the day Friday telling us that Lincoln had developed a fever and wasn't feeling well.  So we picked him up and he definitely was not his normal happy self and kept digging at his ears and gnawing on his fingers.  We called the nurse line for his pediatrician and we decided to give him some motrin and get him comfortable for the night and try to get the fever down and see how he was in the morning.  He had a pretty rough night and was up for good at 5am and still had a fever so we called and got an appointment for 8:10am.  We were supposed to have a very full Saturday with Tot Shabbat and a playdate at the Reston Zoo so we weren't really sure what was going to happen.  After breakfast and a lot of pedialite, Linc was doing quite a bit better, even his fever had broke by the time we made it to the doctor appointment.  They said that he had infection in both eats and we got him an antibiotic.  By this time Linc was back to normal so we decided to head to Tot Shabbat and we'd see if he was up for the zoo still after that.  Linc had a great time as always with Ms Nell and sang and danced and played with a shaker for a while too!
After the oneg we decided to hit up the zoo and give Linc a chance to hang out with his pal little Miss J.  They were too cute together, as soon as he saw her he ran up and gave her a big hug!  They chased each other, copied each other, and fed the animals.  We had a great time but only lasted 1hr 30min before Linc was pretty much cashed out, we were able to make it on the wagon ride before he was donezo.

After that we had to say goodbye to our friends and let them continue the rest of their zoo adventure with out us.  Linc drank a cup of water as soon as we got in the car and was asleep before we hit the main road home.  We took it easy the rest of the day and night since the morning was so jam packed.
Sunday after I whipped us up a yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs & fresh watermelon & cantaloupe we hit up our new Gymboree class, Linc has moved up to the 16-22mo group.  They are a little more active and do more climbing with emphases themes like "big & little" and "up & down" and "quiet & loud".  He had a blast!

Then after a little snack we headed into town to check out Herndon Fest.  We got some lunch from Jimmy's Old Town Tavern and listened to some local music on one of the three stages.  Lincoln really dug the guy performing and was really watching him perform and occasionally would kind of dance in my lap, it was really adorable.  We walked around and checked out all the craft booths and look at the carnival rides but it was just about Linc's naptime and he was getting tired so we didn't take him on anything.  We picked up a dessert and started for home.  Linc again fell asleep with in seconds of hitting his carseat!  We had a nice leisurely Sunday afternoon and spent the afternoon playing around the house and enjoying some time on the balcony playing with a beach ball.  And there was some cuddling with the dogs too...
