Team i6 Takes on "Roughing It"

We took off to Ohio for a little camping fun recently.  We always look forward to our summer trips to Cleveland, but this one was even more special because we had a wedding to attend and the trip happened to fall over Father's Day (another post to come on this topic).  Our kiddos' school was closed on Monday due to a teacher in service day so we got to make a nice long weekend out of it.

We spent most of the weekend at the campground where Grandpa & Grandma spend their summers.  Since there is one more of us now and we needed a little more space we decided to get our own cabin so we could spread out.  I say roughing it, but really we had it pretty good, we even had our own bathroom and kitchen area...so roughing it might be a bit of a stretch.

Anyway, Lincoln had the best time.  The older he gets the more he loves camping, and Daddy could not be more thrilled.  Linc specifically requested marshmallows and sausages to roast over the fire.  He wanted to go fishing & swimming, and ride the golf cart, all things he equates with camping.  I think another highlight was watching Daddy build a great campfire.  We all loved sitting around the fire and catching up.

And as I mentioned above we had a wedding to attend as well.  Aunt Stacey and Uncle Bub (Howard) got hitched!  Congrats to them!  We attended a lovely lakeside ceremony and a luau reception at the park right there as well.

The food and the company were perfect and the kids had a blast running all around.  Lincoln and his cousins even found a little place to catch itty bitty froggies.

After the wedding festivities the whole family, minus the newlyweds & co, headed back to take a dip in the pool.  The weather held out just enough for us to get there and take Delilah for her first swim.
She must have liked it ok, she promptly fell asleep in the warm water and took a nice long afternoon nap.  Lincoln, our little fishy, swam all over the place and held his own with his cousins & his Grandpa.

Part two of our trip to come with a post about Father's Day.  Stay tuned...
