Ugggg, the time has come. The dreaded first day of daycare of Delilah quickly followed by Mommy's first day back to work. I did learn a few things the first time around with Lincoln though.
1.) Start the baby at daycare in advance of going back to work so you can practice drop offs thus making when you do it for real a little easier.
2.) Start back mid week if you can. No one should have to suffer a full week back to work right off the bat.
3.) Nothing will go to plan, well maybe one thing will if you are lucky.
Well Lilah got to go to daycare for a trial run Wednesday while I tried to get some cleaning done, run some errands, and fit in a little pampering with a mani/pedi. It was a rough morning getting out the door but hey that's what trial runs are for right?
I got her all set up in her new room and she settled in like a little champ. She ate her bottles and was a happy little babe while she was there. She got an A+ for the day. And on day two she even had her own little sign welcoming her to her room.
The real test though was the next day when it was really go time. Again, not the best of mornings, all sorts of things went wrong but we did make it out the door so that Mommy was not late to work. Daddy took one for the team and did drop offs for both kids even though that was not the plan originally. Props to Daddy, mad props.
And most importantly Mommy survived her two day work week. Barely.
